LXC containers
Deploy isolated Linux containers (Debian, Ubuntu, Alpine) on your KVM VPS. Ideal for labs and microservices.
Proxmox Backup Server
Back up and restore your LXC containers from the Proxmox interface. Deduplication included.
Root SSH access
Install Proxmox VE from the official ISO on your VPS through our emergency console.
Proxmox VE on a VPS: what is possible
On an OmegaCloud KVM VPS, Proxmox VE can manage LXC containers (light and fast) to isolate your services. Nested KVM virtualisation (nested VMs) needs a dedicated server - we would rather say so plainly.
The Proxmox web interface (port 8006) lets you create, clone and supervise your LXC containers with no command line. Built-in snapshots, resource management and Proxmox Backup Server are all available from a single dashboard.

What you can do with Proxmox on a VPS
LXC containers, Backup Server, Proxmox cluster: get the full power of Proxmox VE out of your KVM VPS.
Proxmox + LXC containers
Lightweight Linux containers (LXC): Nginx, PostgreSQL, Redis, web applications isolated one per container.
Proxmox + Ceph Storage
Distributed storage with Ceph on a Proxmox cluster. Recommended on a dedicated server.
Proxmox Backup Server
Back up your VMs and containers with deduplication. Granular restore.
Proxmox Cluster
HA cluster across several nodes. Live migration of containers between nodes. Recommended on dedicated servers.
Everything included, no hidden extras
Every Proxmox VPS plan carries all of these features from the very first euro.
Anti-DDoS 1 Tbit/s
All of your VMs and LXC containers hosted on the hypervisor benefit from upstream Anti-DDoS 1 Tbit/s filtering, with nothing to configure on the Proxmox side.
SSD storage
The underlying SSD storage guarantees consistent disk performance even when several VMs or containers call on the hypervisor at the same time.
Root SSH access
Root SSH access to the Proxmox host, to administer the hypervisor in depth, manage ZFS storage or troubleshoot from the console when the web interface is unreachable.
Snapshots and backups
Snapshot your whole Proxmox node before a cluster update or a nested virtualisation test, then restore all of it in one click.
Dedicated IPv4 and IPv6
An IPv4 and an IPv6 address dedicated to your Proxmox host, which you need to expose your VMs cleanly and to avoid NAT conflicts between guests.
Real-time monitoring
Watch the overall load on the hypervisor in real time, useful for spotting the VM or the container that is saturating CPU, RAM or network.
Full REST API
Drive the lifecycle of your Proxmox host through the OmegaCloud REST API, alongside the native Proxmox API, compatible with Terraform and Ansible.
24/7 expert support
A cluster that stops responding, or a nested virtualisation problem: technical experts reachable day and night, average answer in under an hour.
Every use for Proxmox on a VPS
From a technical lab to a homelab in production, the OmegaCloud VPS fits every one of your Proxmox projects.
Technical lab and training
Create 5-10 isolated LXC containers to learn Linux, Docker, Kubernetes or networking. Snapshots before every test.
Isolated microservices
Each service (Nginx, database, application) in its own LXC container. Network and resource isolation.
Staging environments
Clone your production LXC containers to test updates. Roll back in one click if anything goes wrong.
Proxmox Backup Server
Centralise the backups of your LXC containers with deduplication. A significant reduction in disk space.
Homelab in production
Move your Proxmox homelab into production on a VPS. A secure personal infrastructure, available 24/7.
DevOps and SRE training
A realistic practice environment: simulated high availability, cluster management, Proxmox monitoring.
Proxmox VPS vs a general-purpose cloud provider
Why choose an OmegaCloud VPS with Proxmox rather than AWS, Azure or GCP?

Frequently asked questions about the Proxmox VPS
What you need to know before deploying Proxmox VE on your VPS.
Nested KVM virtualisation requires the processor to expose the VMX/SVM instructions to the guest system, which most KVM VPS do not allow for stability and security reasons. On our VPS, Proxmox VE can manage LXC containers without restriction. For full nested KVM, we recommend an OmegaCloud dedicated server.
LXC (Linux Containers) are lightweight containers that share the host Linux kernel. They are faster and less demanding on RAM than KVM VMs. On a VPS, LXC containers are the recommended approach. KVM creates full virtual machines with their own kernel - which requires nested virtualisation.
Through our emergency console: boot from the Proxmox VE ISO (available on proxmox.com), install it on your SSD disk, then reach the web interface on port 8006. Our support team can guide you through the installation.
Proxmox VE itself uses around 500 MB of RAM. Allow 2-4 GB per active LXC container. Start plan (4 GB): 1-3 lightweight containers. Medium plan (8 GB): 4-8 containers. Pro plan (16 GB): a full lab of 10-15 containers. Ultra plan (32 GB): a complete production infrastructure.
Yes, the Proxmox VE interface is reachable on port 8006 (HTTPS) through your dedicated IP address. We recommend securing that access: change the port, add a UFW rule to allow your IP address only, or use an SSH tunnel. Enable Proxmox two-factor authentication.
Yes, Proxmox VE includes native snapshot management for LXC containers and VMs. Take a snapshot before a critical update and restore in one click if you need to. Snapshots are stored on your OmegaCloud SSD.
Yes, Proxmox Backup Server can be installed on a separate VPS dedicated to backups. It backs up the LXC containers from your main Proxmox VPS with block-level deduplication. An effective way to cut the disk space taken by repeated backups.
Yes, several OmegaCloud VPS can form a Proxmox cluster for high availability of LXC containers. A Proxmox cluster needs a low-latency network link between nodes - our shared Paris datacenter guarantees optimal latency between VPS.
